Im still stuck on the white nails thing.

I think it's really silly that if we told these He Men that he carries the phone because a lil girl who loves him asked him to, they would be just fine with it.

The switch is in their heads.

Or you can always just do what you're told and have a built in excuse whenever you may fail...

If I had to choose between my son being the next Patrick Mahomes or working a desk job, I'd choose the NFL star. That doesn't mean it'd bother me if it didn't work out, though.

Wow, sounds like you think being straight is MUCH better

That's fine. It doesn't have to "bother you". Just don't tell me you don't have a preference whatsoever if presented the choice. That's all I'm saying.

I get what you're saying. It's not about being gay specifically, but your own kid going through the bullshit/ridicule/bullying/etc; and no parent would wish that on anyone or want to see their own kid go through it.

Wow that's just an amazing ****ing point you have there.

Wearing ugly shoes for example is totally the same thing as being a feminine little boy that gets bullied into depression/suicice.

You really are this ****ing reeruned, huh?

People who are poor get bullied into depression.
People who aren't smart get bullied into depression.
Depending on where you live...people who aren't a certain religion get bullied into depression.

The list is endless. Maybe...just maybe....we should handle the whole "bullying" problem instead of putting the onus on the gay kid.

Sure (and you're preaching to the choir on that)... and I think these days it's different, too. I don't know if being gay growing up is that much worse than all the other reasons kids get bullied.

IF there was a significantly higher chance of significant bullying/ridicule/bullshit for any given reason... then I wouldn't want my kid to have to go through that.

That's completely separate from how I'd raise the kid (I wouldn't coach them to be straight, for example) and there would be zero disappointment.... it would however suck to see them go through the bullshit.

Maybe because I have a kid with a lifelong condition....that I've never once worried about her sexual orientation and spent more time worrying about her health. Which of course she got bullied for.

So yet again...something that she couldn't control got her shit from other people.

At the same time, that type of bullshit is less common today than it was when we were kids. Something like a third of gen Z identify as one of the alphabet soup of not straight these days.
