The Eagles won the SB with a very good OL, but that is an outlier.

Most of the previous winners over the last 10 years have had fairly mediocre OLs.

They won with QBs that get the ball out quickly, and with defenses that put pressure on the offense.

The recipe is QB and defense.

So you don't think teams should invest in pass rushers?

Which is, aside from QB, the most important position in the game.

Sure! But I wouldn't exceed 15% over the average. A defense with a bunch of good (but not great) pass rushers would be just fine, if you had an all star QB.

Of course the 15% is just a figure I pulled out of my ass. I'm sure someone with better analytical skills than me could come up with the perfect figure. Maybe 20%? 25%?

At any rate, I would never look to get any player (besides QB) who was among the top 5 highest paid at that position. IMO, those dollars are better spent on the QB.

I would, but it depends on the player.

For example I'd much rather overpay Von Miller than overpay Joe Flacco.

Well, yes, I suppose the glaring hole in my strategy is the fact that it's hard to know when you have a true superstar QB as opposed to a bust who looks good in college but never pans out in the NFL.

One day it’s Clark is cheap the next day it’s what a stupid contract.

Berry is the type of player you gamble big money on. It hasn’t worked out yet but it’s not like he has laid down after getting paid. It’s just been shit luck.

Why can't pieces of shit like Von Miller get these injuries. Instead it's decent guys like Berry or Watt that keep getting injured.

That's the weird thing. Talib is getting in gunfights and coming out okay. Von Miller is beating low-level drug couriers without injury. Demary-e-our Thomas is living in a crack house and nothing goes awry. It's strange.

Elway made a deal with the devil. It was either that or fixing his teeth.

Now, having checked out the link, I'm surprised that Houston didn't make the list.

Exactly I would say that's MORE bloated than Berry's.

Where was Justin Houston's Contract?

I love both Berry and Houston, and lets be honest, the Chiefs HAD to keep them. But both have not lived up to the big deals they signed.
