Hue Jackson Seems Nice

Report: Hue Jackson Told Browns GM John Dorsey to 'Get the F--- Out of My Office' Upon Firing

By MICHAEL SHAPIRO January 24, 2019

Former Browns head coach Hue Jackson didn't take kindly to being fired in late October, reportedly telling Cleveland general manager John Dorsey to, "get the f--- out of my office," upon hearing the news. Jackson was told the team had "quit" on him, according to ESPN's Seth Wickersham.

The details of Jackson's firing were revealed in Wickersham's article detailing Cleveland's turbulent last half-decade, with a focus on the ownership reign of Jimmy Haslam. The Knoxville, Tenn. native bought the Browns in 2012 for $1 billion. The Browns have yet to reach the playoffs with Haslam as owner.

Jackson went 3–36 as Cleveland's head coach before being fired on Oct. 29. The Browns went 5–3 to close the season without Jackson.

Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 27 touchdowns in 2018, the most of all rookie QB's. Cleveland's quarterbacks coach Freddie Kitchens was named the Browns head coach on Jan. 9.

I’d love to hear a good impersonation of Dorsey’s response

I'm sure it had the words "Buddy Boy" in it, like "Listen here Buddy Boy!"

His response makes sense if you read the entire article:

Jackson asked why he was being fired. The team quit on you, Dorsey replied.

At the time, four of the eight Browns games had gone to overtime.

"Get the f--- out of my office," Jackson said."

Yeah, I read the whole thing earlier today. Interesting read on how to be an ineffectual manager and continually destroy, from the inside, your own organization. Terrible ownership.

Hue was setup to fail in many ways.

That was a damn nice response, I thought, when reading the full article.

Also, Hue reported to the owner, not Dorsey.

I'm so mixed on the owners. I appreciate an owner who tries. Unlike some owners like the fords who are there to cash checks. I dont think he will be Snyder or Jerry Jones in terms of micromanagement although he's crossed that line way too far several times.

I think back to Clark Hunt and the mistakes he made in his early days. And how it took fan mutiny to get him to change his mind on pioli. That reminds me a lot about hue... Dee haslem hated firing him because they got too close. But one thing ive always appreciate is Clark seems to take care of matters more actively than Lamar did. Case in point... How quickly the Chiefs responded to the Sutton fiasco. How willing he was to move on from alex Smith. Things vermeil would never do. But even having some experience before taking over it took Clark a few tries to learn.

In the end, he landed on a good GM. He has a qb. His roster is pretty good. And who knows what kitchens is, but he seems like he'll be a huge improvement over hue. Out of this shit storm, he might have started to figure things out.

Yeah, that's the part I don't get. Did Hue think it was unfair to be fired after going 3-36?

Certainly a team wants a coach when the team has quit on him.

They firing was bad enough but for Baker Mayfield to stand on his death and Flop out his imaginary dick and balls to lay rest on Jacksons bald head was too much
