The front 7 hasn't changed. It's still Demarcus Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford doing all the heavy lifting and like you said them taking a flyer on Jaylen Smith and hitting gold.
You have no clue what you are talking about. Byron Jones played safety the last two years. They smartly put him back at CB his natural position this year.

I’m not saying Kris is bad, but he has nowhere near the same pieces to work with here.

Compare Hitchens and Ragland/Rookie to Jaylon Smith and Latten Vander-esch

The Cowboys have 2 first round picks and two third round picks in their secondary. Awuzai and Byron jones being the first rounds and Jordan Lewis and Antwan Woods (sorry 4th rounder)

We didn’t even mention Sean Lee 2nd round, DeMarcus Lawerence 2nd round, Maleke Collins 2nd round

If you take Sean Lee out who started in 3-4, and you go with just the guys the Cowboys have dragged since moving to 4-3 over last 4 years....

That’s
1st Round - awuzai, Byron, vander, taco
2nd round - Jaylon, Gregory, Lawerence, Collins
3rd round - Lewis,

They have spent a shit ton of draft capital getting their defense switched from 3-4 to 4-3

And then Reid kept Sutton this year, and repeatedly praised Sutton after the games, for making "great" adjustments at half time.

So, I am hoping that Veatch and even Clark Hunt will have input on who becomes the next DC.

No way I think Reid is infallible, but you're relying upon Clark Hunt or your misspelling of Brett Veach as a better alternative? Slow down, my friend. We're both on board with change. Let's start from there. CP can unite around ANY defense that's not Bob Sutton.

Eric Hicks would disagree.

I'm afraid firing Sutton is not enough. It sure had to be done but the lack of fundamentals on this defense is not on Bob Sutton, although he is responsible for it as a DC.
I do not expect major improvements in our D unless a good part of the D coaching staff is replaced as well.
Makes no sense to me discussing formations and schemes when you have personnel on the field who can't tackle or break blocks.
This personnel needs to go back to practice fundamentals, and this is not a DC task.

think you could get Demarcus Lawrence and Earl Thomas with an extra $25m combined?

if you cut Berry and Houston June 1st, that's what you get.

I seriously doubt Dallas lets him go, but the point is-yes, yes we could go get whatever FA we want to.

I have a customer with the last name Veatch, and when I type fast sometimes I don't catch it.

And I am not relying on them, just hoping that it's not just Reid's decision, and Veach and Hunt are the two most likely people who could have input that Reid cannot ignore.

Thanks Bob.
You managed to give up a 28 point lead against the Colts in 2013, an 18 point lead at home last year against the Titans, and earned us the title of first home team to lose a championship game despite having scored 30 points.

That’s how we teach our DEs. Granted it’s 7-9 year olds, but they grasp the concept. Push anything your way inside or make the tackle. Let the LBs and DT make plays in the middle and the opposite DE come in and make the sack/tfl if they stay back.
