Well ****. In my fairy-tale, the game would have finished at the end of the 2nd period where the game winning goal would have been shorthanded with Kapanen slew-footing Marchand before dekeing Rask to perfection.
Instead, the Leafs pooped all over themselves, exposing every reason why they're not ready to be contenders, in the 3rd, with Marchand digging in the final dagger.
- Soft forwards
- Weak Defense
- Streaky Goalie
- Gardiner refusing to take his brain medication
The Leafs have 6 UFAs, 5 who were here prior to the re-build and probably won't be back next season, (dig out the cancer). They'll have a ton of cap space to play with for next year, so it should be an interesting off-season.
I'd imagine Tampa is pretty happy to get a tired Boston team in the next round.

Ovechkin misses a wide open net from his usual spot and as the puck wraps around the boards, his first thought --- in the Stanley Cup playoffs, in the round he's never won -- is to fall to his knees in disbelief instead of getting back on defense or changing immediately.

Not to sound overly dramatic, but don't think I've ever seen a player do that when the puck is not just in play, but quickly going the other way (granted, the Pens didn't get that far with it).

Holy shit. Really impressive puck pressure.... surprised they can keep their legs with the amount of energy.

Teams that aren't expansion teams usually have to learn what playoff hockey is all about...

I'm glad they are doing as well as they are. It's great for the league IMO.

I'm still trying to figure out how Winnipeg flew under my radar all of the regular season.

They're ****ing tight!

Now that my team has been eliminated I'm rooting for the Vegas Knights and whoever is playing the pens.
