The French guy has made one start in three years. Is he a special teams guy? I have no idea what's going on here.

Small-framed, experienced, productive, finesse weakside linebacker who has bulked up 15-20 pounds in the last year. Helped himself with an outstanding combine performance, and is best-suited in a fast-flow scheme in which he can utilize his athleticism to run and hit. Has traits to be used on special teams and develop as a nickel linebacker.

Maybe Veach thought he was getting Jason Pierre-Paul?

Or maybe LDT would feel more at ease if there were another French-ish name on the roster.

If they were just swapping special teamers, my guess is they think Pierre-Louis offers more defensive upside. Probably didn't want to keep DJA for just special teams ability.

Linebacker. This is the position with anticipated turnover. Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are the only sure things. The Seahawks didn’t bring back Mike Morgan and Brock Coyle. They will keep five; remember, Marsh could be considered a sixth. Kevin Pierre-Louis will have to battle to stay on the team, but his special teams ability should allow him to make it. The final two spots will be fought for among free-agent additions Michael Wilhoite, Terence Garvin and Arthur Brown.

Pierre-Louis tore up the combine. Probably like his athleticism.

4.51 forty, 28 bench reps, 39 inch vert, 4.02 shuttle.
