Hospital Bill (For Emergency Surgery) = $30,000

Patient Responsibility = $12,000

WTF IS THAT SHIT?! SERIOUSLY?! THEY WANT ME TO PAY $12,000?!

One night in my very own suite... $2000!!! WTF?!

Does anyone know if hospitals accept IOU's? Monopoly money, maybe?

Now I'm not sure if this will work but I had a friend who went to the er and was charged 750. He wrote a letter claiming financial hardship and looked up the blue book value of the procedure. They lowered his bill to 200 dollars. Might be worth a shot Lumpy.

There was a bit more to the story regarding my trip to the hospital and the operation, but I won't go into details. Let's just say that, after doing a little research today, I might be seeking legal council.
