****OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread****

Have been banned from the other thread by an apparently sensitive snowflake (ironically after dozens of pages of political discussion from others) so I'll stick my thoughts on the NBA Playoffs here from now on. We needed a new thread anyway.

No, that was the only thing to do.

The responsible thing to do was to apologize to the officer, and acknowledge that the guy who’s life he tried to ruin was in fact a hero that saved a young black girls life.

He gets zero credit after saying that he only deleted the tweet “because it’s being used to create more hate”.

What he did was actually the cowardly thing to do.

The irony of all that when he was talking about “ACCOUNTABILITY” was priceless.

Oh, I'd disagree. I saw plenty of people still railing on that cop even after the video was released. In this day and age, people will generally push whatever narrative they want to push for their agenda regardless of video evidence, especially on social media where there is such pressure to be "woke". It seems like LeBron hasn't quite reached that level of crazy yet.

A "hero" for shooting a 16 year old kid FOUR TIMES leading to her death?? Get the feck out of here. That cop was a heartless piece of trash imo.

So you would’ve preferred he let that girl stab the other girl?

That makes you the piece of trash…

And yes, when a cop saves a young girl’s life, he’s a hero.

Lebron would have ruined that guy's life with his tweet, eh?

You knew about the shooting (I didn't) and so did KC Connection. It was out there. People were going to judge. Lebron was a part of the mob. He personally didn't almost ruin a guy's life.

And even if Lebron was the one to popularize the story about the shooting and skewed the facts when he tweeted it out, what ****ing power does he have to ruin or not ruin a dude's life?

See what I mean? LeBron is more reasonable than you give him credit for. He clearly realized the situation for what it was when he saw the video. He got caught up in the social media mob for a few minutes, but that doesn't make him an awful person.

If the body cam footage never came out? Yes, I fully believe this guys life would’ve likely been ruined. It’s clear by the initial reactions in these cases that people are going to believe the narrative that they want to. Lebron absolutely would’ve contributed to it. I obviously didn’t mean single handedly.

He’s not just a “part of the mob”. He’s a leader of it with his platform. And there’s no denying that the mob has the ****ing power to ruin somebody’s life.

You continue to pretend that his excuse for deleting it wasn’t insane.

I'm sure he was embarrassed. It's a pretty human reaction.

No, a human reaction would’ve been to apologize for the knee jerk reaction instead of deflecting.

His response after the fact was cowardly and ironic considering he was preaching “ACCOUNTABILITY”.

Deflecting is what most people do when they are embarrassed. Generally takes some forethought to apologize.

Lol "the cop saved the young girls life" as if CERTAIN death was coming her way from a small knife ..SMH. Instead of taking control of the situation from the very second he arrived that cop grabbed his gun straight away and shot that girl FOUR TIMES!!...he's a coward and a pig and I hope he rots in hell.

You aren’t even trying to actually defend it because you know it’s indefensible.

Your only defense is that “most people would do it”, which I don’t even agree with. That’s really ****ing weak either way.

“Most people” would’ve apologized and owned it. I guess you have a more cynical view of “most people” than I though.

Clearly doesn’t understand how split decisions to potentially save a life, or allow somebody potentially take one, work.

You have no idea what could’ve happened had she been allowed to stab that girl. All it takes is the right spot.
