Well it all made sense near the end when Chuck admitted that Sam and Dean were his favorite story so he basically just gave them the insane plot armor the whole time.
I can't remember which season it was but I tapped out in the one where you start off in ep 1 with some type of nephilim going to a Canadian fast food restaurant. It just looked like it was shot on a porn budget with some piss poor acting. 15? 17? Something like that. You can tell that budget got slashed to the floor.
