****Official 2019-2020 NHL Season Thread****

Season begins a week from tomorrow, and the defending champs just traded Joel Edmundson and a prospect for Justin Faulk.

Who's up for back-to-back Cups?

I'm trying to think of a comparable, like Browns fans claiming a SB win when the Ravens won it the first year they left, but that doesn't quite hit what I was looking for...
KU claims national championships for that time that a failed baker said they were national champions 20 years after the fact based on some newspaper clippings he read.

That's really pathetic. I remember that turd Wickedson believed it to be gospel.

I love the upcoming format in terms of entertainment value.

It's definitely not the fairest thing they could have done... but, there's the round robin of best-vs-best, and then the series that have playoff implications that I might not otherwise really pay attention to.

A little closer to March Madness than just finishing the final 11 games or whatever, but should be fun (and it helps the Avalanche are already in the playoffs ).

NHL Network. There are some games on NBCSN starting tomorrow, and games on NBC this weekend once the games start counting for real.

I don't think I've watched this much exhibition hockey even during the real preseason.

Nice to have the NHL back.

I agree, not having fans didn't bother me at all.
Too bad your Habs had their poo pushed in tonight.

When you are sellers at the deadline and still end up in the playoffs playing against Buyers it is what I expected, it will not go very well vs the Crosbys.
