Did ya'll know they're finally making a Kurt Warner movie?

What took so long? When he won the Super Bowl, were movie execs just like, "... no, this true story is TOO perfectly made for Hollywood. We shouldn't touch it." Well way to go, assholes. Nobody cares about Kurt Warner anymore, and people don't really want to watch heartwarming underdog sports movies these days. You'll lose money on this thing. ****ing morons.

Anyway, I guess it's in post-production now. Supposed to come out in December. No trailer yet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americ...t_Warner_Story

Also, yes, that's right. Dennis Quaid as Dick Vermeil.

I'm not quite sure what to do with this information, but I just thought it was interesting that it took them this long to finally make this thing into a movie that was begging to be made into a movie 20 years ago. Too bad Warner got out-reffed in that Cardinals SB loss. Would have made the perfect ending to this film. Maybe they'll just tell the Kurt Warner story up until he wins the SB for the Rams and then end the movie there.

Relative to winning the Super Bowl, which is the pinnacle of Warner's Cinderella story it is.

And after losing the Super Bowl, the Rams finished the following season 7-9, and Warner loses his job to Bulger.

Spoiler alert - the last 20 years of life are mostly about loss. Enjoying life is about celebrating the victories...

The Rams downfall was when Martz took over. He deserves all the credit in the world for the super bowl. If not for him vermeil would have rolled with Tony banks in '99. But mad Mike was allergic to running the ball and wanted to turn his qb into a human tackling dummy. Vermeil and Martz both needed each other.

Will always have a soft spot in my heart for Warner. Back in those days in STL doing local marketing you learn a lot about the good people and the phonies. Kurt/Brenda and Grant Wistrom were always singled out as being extraordinarily generous. A genuinely good dude even and especially after he became real famous.

Martz is a phenomenal offensive coach who had too much say involving personnel.

The drafting under Martz was not good to go along with lack luster FA signings that put the Rams in cap hell later on. Moving forward with Bulger was the right move but did not successfully draft or develop OL to protect him to replace an aging Pace, Timmerman, and McCollum.

Kurt Warner was always one of my favorite non-Chiefs. Hell of a QB and a hell of a story.
