The Empire of Evil?
So, who is Indy fighting in this one? Amazon, Disney, or Apple? |

I swore that I'd never give Disney another penny of my money, but if you post a still of Indy punching a hippy I may have to break that vow.

Indiana Jones is not a slave to fashion. He IS fashion.

I think you are misremebering his professor outfit a bit. I think the clothes are era appropriate here considering the age of the character:
Speaking of Indy's look - it was lifted from an old Charlton Heston flick. Secret of the Incas (1954) I'm sure that isn't news to the franchise's biggest fans but it's still interesting to me. The movie isn't that great by the way. |

Sean Connery wore a leather vest and similar garb as Quatermain in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It's been the look for adventurers in film for more than 75 years. |

I don't think I can recall seeing any H. Rider Haggard covers that reminded me of Indy. Ones published before Raiders I mean. Stewart Granger had a "slouch" hat in King Solomon's Mines and I've seen some covers that had a similar look to his, but nothing that looked like Indy or Charlton Heston for that matter.

Hell, we saw a treasure hunter wearing the same garb (Panama hat, leather jacket) in 1912 in the opening scene of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It wasn't a unique look to 1954. |

I'm not following you here. It doesn't really matter though. So are there any good Indiana Jones clones? Movies that either inspired or were inspired by Indy? Like Firewalker, the two Richard Chamberlain Allan Quatermain movies from the 80s, Romancing the Stone, San Fernando Jones and the Temple of Poon (2000). I like several movies that took place during the British Raj but I don't know if I would say any of them are really all that similar to Temple of Doom. A few that I like: Stranglers of Bombay The Four Feathers (all versions are good though I'm partial to the one from 1939) The Brigand of Kandahar The Deceivers North West Frontier The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935) Last edited by Mennonite; 06-15-2021 at 02:47 PM.. |
