***Official Who to Start Thread***

Week 1 is looming folks. I'm giddy - like a schoolgirl. Anyway, I figured I would create a thread where people from the planet can post their rosters, and or tentative weekly starting rosters if they needed help.

I'm stuck @ #2 RB and #3 WR. Here is who I have starting in week one.

QB - Garrard @ Tenn
RB - Barber @ Cleveland
Portis @ NYG, TJones @ Miami, Selvin Young @ Oakland
WR - Colston v. TB
WR - Cotchery @ Miami
Bryant Johnson v. Zona, Hackett @ SD, Porter @ Tenn, Galloway @ NO
TE - Lee v. Minny
K - Jeff Reed v. Houston
JAX D @ Tenn.

Any help/guidance for my second RB and third WR would be appreciated.

Our information has yet to be posted on Yahoo! But, when it is I will be able to let you guys know some of the better FA WRs.

I know they're only kickers. But, I'm playing the "stacked" team in the league.

I'm in 5th out of 14 teams - top 6 make playoffs.

Do you start Bironas @ JAX, or Gould @ Chicago?

Alright....so Week 12 is a confusing week. I have no idea who to start because of my matchups. So therefore.....choose 1 QB, 2 RBs and either 3 WRs or 2 WRs and a TE.

QBs:

McNabb vs. Ravens
Quinn vs. Texans
Flacco vs. Eagles

RBs:

Portis vs. Seahawks
Forte vs. Rams
Lynch vs. Chiefs
J. Jones vs. Redskins

WRs:

A. Johnson vs. Browns
M. Colston vs. Packers
D. Bowe vs. Bills
R. Brown vs. Ravens
V. Jackson vs. Colts
E. Royal vs. Raiders
K. Winslow vs. Texans

Who to start at QB?

Do I use Thiggy again vs. Buffalo or....

Eli @ Arizona
Cassel @ Miami

Scoring: .1 point for every 2 yards, 6 pts per TD pass, no yardage bonus points, -1 per INT

I'm leaning towards Thigpen, but want opinions.

Thanks

That's a tough one. The Giants like to run the ball alot and Miami's secondary is actually performing better now than they were earlier in the year. I think you have to go with Thiggy for one reason. It's almost a guarantee that we're going to be down during the game at some point in time....and Thiggy is going to have to throw the ball.

Now help me out.

Roddy White @ San Diego
Terrell Owens @ Seattle
D. Bowe @ Oakland

Which two do I start? White's sorta banged up, but should play. TO has been a bit of a let down all season, but exploded last week and now he's playing in a Thanksgiving game... of course DBowe is playing in a division game... which two should I go with?

and...

Jones-Drew @ Hou
Forte @ Min

normally Forte is a no brainer for me. But Min is 2nd against the run and Hou is like 22nd or something like that against the run. Plus Jacsonville uses Jones-Drew as a reciever a lot. What do you think?

I think you might have to go with White and Owens. I thought Marshall and Royal we're going to blow up on the Raiders last week....but the Raider secondary actually held their own.

Your RB situation is a tough one. This was Forte's stat line against the Vikings in Week 7:
20 attempts for 56 yards and 1 TD. 2.8 ypc average
2 receptions for 17 yards

This was Jones-Drew's stat line against the Texans in Week 4:
7 attempts for 32 yards and 0 TDs. 4.6 ypc average
2 receptions for 17 yards

I think at this point that it's pretty much a toss up. Forte is a work horse who is something like 3rd in the league with percentage of the team's workload. Jones-Drew still splits carries with Taylor but does have the chance to break it for a big gain. So considering that Jones-Drew just played Minnesota and only ran 3 times for 4 yards. I'd say go with Jones-Drew against Houston.

So pick my starting lineup. Basically I need to win this week and I need the guy in 1st place to lose...so that I can get the 1st round bye in the playoffs.

Pick 1: McNabb vs. Cardinals, Flacco vs. Bengals

Pick 2: Lynch vs. 49ers, Forte vs. Vikings, Portis vs. Giants, J. Jones vs. Cowboys

Pick 3: A. Johnson vs. Jaguars, Colston vs. Bucs, Bowe vs. Raiders, Royal vs. Jets, Reggie Brown vs. Cardinals, V. Jackson vs. Falcons, K. Winslow vs. Colts.

Pick 1: John Carney vs. Eagles or Joe Nedney vs. Bills

I'm leaning towards this lineup.

Flacco
Lynch
Portis
A. Johnson
M. Colston
D. Bowe
Carney

that looks about right.

although... are we sure Carney is playing this week? And why are you leaning away from J. Jones against the C-boys? I'm just thinking that if Portis is banged up a bit (and the Giants D has been pretty solid) he might be an option instead of Portis. Lynch I'd start for sure.
