Should NFL teams bring in Sumo as OL?

Looks at these sumo wrestlers stonewall Parsons on a slick sand ring. Coach up a few years and you could have great IOL at least I think.

[Highlight] Micah Parsons and CJ Stroud get another rep in with a Sumo Wrestler

Those are pretty scrawny sumo wrestlers, too.

I actually have a weird fascination with sumo, and watch it quite a bit. They often look like overweight slobs, but these guys have scary deceptive strength, and they are extremely skilled at using lower body strength and leverage.

I respect sumo wrestlers but the second that dude had to protect a QB against an NFL pass rusher, he’s lost

I suppose it’s possible in the same way that sometimes
An NFL team can take a dude that only played basketball and turn him into a stud football player, but those are few and far between (guys that only played another sport and transitioned to a NFL player). Off the top of my head the biggest issues would be dealing with speed rushers with moves and developing the stamina to play an hour. Most Sumo matches are like a couple of minutes at longest.

A few teams have tried it in the past and it never worked out. Last time was probably 20+ years ago, though.
