As i mentioned previously, I have been in this situation a few times. Here is my favorite recovery story:
I was dating a girl while in the Army and she phased up before me. She was able to go off post, wear civilian clothes, get weekend passes, and drive a car. I was left in the barracks with a cerfew. My best friend phased up with her. I felt he would look out for her for me and be a decent friend. I was wrong. I finally phased up, after some rocky moments in our relationship. We took a "break" but she asked me to join her on a Friday night with my best friend and I thought things were improving. We went to a hookah bar, smoked, drank, and had a genuinely great time. We went back to the rented hotel room we all paid for to drink down cheaper beer and bullshit. This is where all hell broke loose. I kid you not, within 30 minutes, the girl I cared about started making out with my best friend right in front of me. It eventually escalated to their clothes coming off, at which point I gathered my shit and got the **** out of there before I went to jail. This was a tough one to recover from; my girlfriend of 2 years before the Army cheated on me with my best friend, saying that she missed me and my friend reminder her of me. Bullshit. So here I was again. This time around I took a different stance: I would kill them with kindness. I was the only one with a car. They had the balls to ask me on occasion to take them to a hotel for the weekend. I obliged with every ounce of my soul writhing. To make a long story short, I kept this up for some time, and it eventually are away at their relationship. With me being their chauffeur, I got to witness it firsthand. Karma at its finest. These things make me who I am today, and I know, without a doubt, I can handle some shit. I wish you the best, bro. Hang in there. |
