So freaking funny.

Andy is an offensive genius and saved the franchise.

During the Alex years, the offense finished 6th, 16th, 9th, 13th and 6th in points and 21st, 25th, 27th, 20th, and and 5th in yards.

At that same time, the defense was finishing 5th, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 15th in points and 24th, 7th, 7th, 24th, and 28th in yards.

The "respectability" that Andy brought back to this franchise was almost WHOLLY due to an ultra-conservative offense that never turned the ball over and a REALLY good defense.

It's like people don't even watch the games.

Yes. Sutton deserves tons of credit for coasting off the high end talent left for him by the previous regimes. Poe, Houston, Johnson, Hali, and Berry were sitting there waiting for him. Once they were gone or ineffective it's all gone to shit. He's actually developed 2 high end starters in 5 years. Peters and Jones. Great job letting the entire unit stagnate under your watch, you worthless ****.

Here's the problem with the whole "coasting on the coattails" idea...

Romeo Crennel coached the same guys before Sutton and Crennel is one of those guys everybody thinks he's a genius.

Yet somehow, with the same core of guys, his defense finished 25th in points and 20th in yards.

Bob Sutton doesn't draft anybody. If you're mad about the defense stagnating, look in the office down the hall from Sutton. That guy is the one making the picks.

No. Sutton is just the one responsible for developing the talent and getting them ready for game day. He's done a marvelous job of that.

How do you develop players that suck? Seriously, it's like you're ready to lay ALL blame on Sutton and none on Reid, Dorsey, or Veach.

That's the very definition of "scapegoat", you realize that right?

Man i just want Berry back for the MNF game against Denver. Make him hungry for some big plays saying he is back.

Of course this weekend home opener would be nice.

Sutton won't look so terrible as a DC when Berry comes back

**** no. I've been on record that Veach is an absolute ****ing idiot for what he did in the secondary this offseason, even taking the Peters trade out of the equation, and Dorsey deserved his banishment to Cleveland for his truly awful contract negotiation skills.

This defense is dead ****ing last. There is plenty of shit for these reeruns to share.

I actually think I’d just let him practice this week, maybe play it like a preseason game... but we shouldn’t need him to win Sunday. Just let him knock rust off.

Mike DeVito, Dee Ford (when healthy), Husain Abdullah, Sean Smith, Ron Parker, Jaye Howard, Kurt Coleman, Chris Jones.

This franchise did not invest in the defense properly before this year.

2013-nothing
2014-Dee Ford, Phillip Gaines
2015-Marcus Peters, Steven Nelson, Ramik Wilson
2016-Chris Jones, KeiVarae Russ...oh wait.., Eric Murray
2017-Tanoh Kpassagnon

Dorsey gave us talent bc we were first on the waiver wire and Sutton’s old players. Dorsey did a poor job of drafting defensive players to replace the 2013 wave.

We just beat two good teams without him. No need to rush him back.

So I think with how first two-weeks went the coaching staff is handling his injury well. Let him take his time and heal. We have an offense now that can score enough to win even when our defense plays bad. I think we can beat pretty much anyone in the league even without him.

Who cares about a sb caliber defense? So we can be like tb or baltimore and win in a fluke year. Did people even watch the sb last year?

Wow. So a list of JAGs we got in FA besides Jones and Ford. Great example of Sutton developing talent. Again, once the 5 cornerstones regresses due to age and injury this shit show of a D has stagnated horrendously. Nevermind their historically bad playoff collapses.
