*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I would be shocked it it took Mahomes 18 seasons to get 6 SB rings. Maybe 10-12 tops.

We're likely to have a couple of years worth of less dominant teams when Mahomes' contract balloons and players like Kelce, Matthieu, and so on decline or move on. Veach appears to be pretty damned sharp though, so I don't expect it to last long.

I think Brady's record 6 rings are in real jeopardy, as are his 9 SB appearances.

Coaching staff is very important. If Coach Reid is only around for another 5 years or so, that brings in a big question mark for a huge chunk of Mahomes' career. Just look at how much Mike McCarthy wasted Aaron Rodgers through the years.

It’s a good point.

I think health is the only thing stopping Andy from another 10 years.

He can make a GOAT argument himself after several more years with Mahomes.

I think no sport renders “rings” less meaningful in individual player debates than football. We’re talking about a sport where the QB isn’t even on the field half of the time or more.

They matter of course and the great ones find a way to win eventually, but every single championship requires so much more help from your surrounding peers than I think is needed in say, the NBA.

To me, Mahomes already looks like a better pure football player than Tom ever has been.
