I'm still not 100% convinced Hill was down here. One replay close-up showed his knees like an inch above the ground as he spun out of the tackle but you never see the knee away from the camera at the beginning of the catch, so - . Didn't matter in the long run, of course.

How did so many people miss on this kid coming out of college? None of what he’s doing now looks different from his college tape....

Dammit I am glad they did though.

Mahomes is going to revolutionize the QB position.

How many teams are going to be scouting College Baseball pitching prospects that also play football?
How many teams are going to be patient and let their QB sit for a year and learn?
Also, the scouting on kids that have grown up in professional locker rooms and are familiar with the atmosphere and work ethic will have a higher focus.

It just goes to show you how hard it is evaluating talent and how much people suck that get paid to do it.

Here's the thing, though - the unique set of circumstances that went into that kid are unlikely to be duplicated for a looooooong time.

How many guys with baseball backgrounds with fathers who played professional sports AND made those lockkerooms an active part of their upbringing who also happen to have a mother****ing cannon attached to their shoulder are coming down the pipe anytime soon?

I mean sure - scouts can take some of the lessons learned from Mahomes and try to apply them, but they're not going to find that combination of traits + the humility born of being under the radar his entire high school/college career smashed into one guy.

We got him. This dude is a once in a lifetime combination of flukey upbringing and freakish talent and he's a goddamn Kansas City Chief.

I'm gonna go jerk off so hard now...

Oh no worries there. It's like I'm 14 again. You know how drinking more beer gets your liver processing it faster so your tolerance goes up?

I mean I've been cranking it so much the last 4-5 weeks that if I don't unload over lunch I end up high centered on my office chair. If I have to skip lunch or get stuck in a meeting, the rest of my day is pretty much this:

You're going to see a ton of teams signing UDFA QBs that have a baseball background to see if they can strike gold.

No, I think he is saying, "****, I wasn't even this good. Why the **** didn't we draft this guy. I'm screwed. We suck." But he's on his 7th rum and diet coke, so it's kinda hard to really tell. His face is numb

NFL scouts are really stupid bc they evaluate things that don’t matter.

-Mahomes wasn’t a winner in college
-played in an offensive system that historically failed in the NFL
-played in a conference that had horrible defense

It’s crazy that the Bears front office thought Trubisky was better than Mahomes and Watson.

Astounding
