We have a bunch of fresh snow and it feels like it's 15* out... I'm headed to a stand as soon as I find something to eat. My weather app has to be wrong, it feels a hell of a lot warmer than 15* out here. Last edited by ghak99; 12-21-2012 at 12:16 PM.. |

Need a little gun help. I want to add to my gun collection, I want a semi-automatic pistol. I would like to be able to hunt deer with it (I like to purchase guns that are beautiful and functional). I want to spend $500-$700. I already own a .44 mag pistol (TC break down single shot) that I hunt with, but would like some kind of semi-auto pistol. For the record, I'm a big fan of Remington weapons, mostly because I think they're well made and their high gloss walnut stocks are beautiful. Is it legal to hunt with a .45? Any suggestions?

Distance is the only limitation with a .45 ACP IMO. Think bow ranges. Unless you're a marksman, you shoot autos in feet not yards. Also, just a guess but from your brief summary I'd think you're going to have to stay in the upper range or go above your price point. |

I live in CA but only hunt in MO. Yes, I figure anything I kill will need to be close range. Do you have any suggestions on a gun? I know Remington makes a .45 semi-auto with a walnut grip (mid $700 range). Anyone know anything about Remington pistols?

For a lil more money you can get into the Desert Eagle its a 100 yard hand gun. I know a few guys that hunt deer with the vaunted Ruger Old army 44 black powder to. Its the holly-grail of blackpowder revolvers & will knock a deer on its ass

I already have a black powder revolver. I'll google the Desert Eagle.

Very excited about this. I'm a weirdo for open sites, but I might look in to getting a scope for this.
