They're actually chili threads. Mostly used as a garnish, but also impart some flavor.
It's a bit warm here yet for ramen or soup season in general, but it's my go-to if I feel cold symptoms coming on. |

Take a potato. micro...9....minutes.
After the 9... Take a knife and cut it to shreds, now the salt, pepper, hot sauce, butter, sour cream, chopped up barbecued chicken, chopped up onion. chopped up bell pepper, now sprinkle shredded cheese (whatever ya like) over it all, put back in the micro for 1 minute,,,,,,dinner! |
