Had they gone 5-11 no one would care, but they won a playoff game. He walks and you go 5-11 all of the sudden Daboll is on the hot seat and NY is pissed.

Daniel Jones isn't stupid at all he played his hand to get paid way better than the player he is.
Oh I know, it was a huge mistake to let it get to this point is what I was saying.

It's going to end up getting Daboll fired, it'll just take another year or two.

He should've told them to trade his ass before the season. You had to have known this guy wasn't going to be a difference maker. You don't pay a non-difference maker $40m.

How do you even let it GET to this point?

You tag and trade him for whatever you can get and go hire a game manager on the cheap. Same difference, way less money, and you draft a guy with potential to be worth paying.
Look at the drafts since Mahomes. Damn.

If you don’t have a top 7 pick you’re ****ed. Jalen Hurts is the only good QB drafted after that point.

It’s really really hard and we got really really lucky that Ryan Pace is a butt****ing moron

Yep.

You know who I think has a chance this year to be really good? Will Levis. But he's going to need to sit a year, and he's going to need a QB whisperer coach.

Also, Richardson IF he goes to a team that's willing to build their offense around what they do. Like the Ravens did Lamar.

I have to disagree. A lot of later drafted QB's have turned out to be decent. Small sample size but Purdy was excellent this year. Hell, two of the greatest QBs ever Brady and Warner may have not had much of a career if not for injuries. How many career back ups could have been elite if given a chance to play? We'll never know but we definitely know its possible.

Sure a lot of late round/backup QBs have sucked when given the chance to play but a lot of 1st rounders have sucked also. Picking successful QBs is far from an exact science. You can get a lousy QB in the top 10 or an excellent QB in later rounds. Feel stupid now but I was disappointed when we drafted Mahomes. Reason being up to that point every Big 12 QB had been lousy in the NFL.

Since I have no concept as to what even $5 million would do to change my life, the amount of money football players ask for seems insane. Especially those that are protected by the rules. What are teams supposed to do? Just let players go and hope they can find Patrick 2.0 in the draft? We really have no idea how fortunate we are to have a QB that realizes how life changing 1/2 a BILLION dollars is and whose ego isn't so large that they have to be the highest paid player in the league.

As far as Eli and Trent go... Even a blind hog finds an acorn.

Yes. That is exactly what they should do. Every year until they find a Top 5-7 QB. Never, ever, ever pay a QB that isn't a Top 5-7 franchise guy.

This stinks of an owner thinking of Daniel Jones as his son.

Most of the highest paid qbs are black. Lamar basically had 1 great year and it's ancient history. He's done nothing in the playoffs and is injury prone. They drafted him and designed their whole offense specifically for him. Do you really think the owner's attitude is "Screw him he's black. If he was white I'd back up the Brinks truck."

Agree that Jones contract is bad for the Giants but it's basically only a 2 year deal if the Giants want it to be

Jacoby Brissett is twice the QB that Daniel Jones is and won't get 1/4 of that type of deal. Unquestionably stupid contract for an undoubtedly bad QB.
