That's a question that can't be answered unless you take the time to analyze every team's draft for a decade. But in the Chiefs case, James O'Shaugnessy and DJ Alexander made the team in 2015, Aaron Murray in 2014 and Sanders Commings in 2013, although he never saw the field due to injury.
But there are notable 5th rounders across the league such as Richard Sherman. The bottom line is that there's barely any risk involved in taking a 5th rounder, especially when the team had two early 4th rounders and two 5th rounders. No player is a "reach" at #165. |
