If I had red wine I would have only done that to a section to test first if using the caraway, as I know red wine can make the sauce taste richer or different. Don't know how the two would have worked together. Without the caraway, I thought it needed more flavor or punch—though it was still very good. But it was great with the caraway. It's just a different goulash. Both are great!

I'd make this one again too.
