OK guys. I've developed my next new strategy.
This is relatively new but in the first 3 days im very encouraged. I'm putting together a small portfolio ,target is 10 stocks , all with small floats. The smaller , the better. Step 1 is to determine the range they are trading in by putting your chart on a weekly candle time frame so you can determine the High /low pattern weekly. Step 2 is when you see a pattern you can feel comfortable with set a buy order where yo want to buy and let that ride. Step 3 , when your buy order executes , immediately set a sell order for a 20% gain. Park it and let it ride. I'm allocating $100 to each buy, so if the price is $2 I'm buying 51 shares. I set the sell order for 2.40 (20%) for 50 shares and let it ride. This way when the sell executes it leaves 1 share so when I pull up my account and see 1 share standing I know I had a sell order execute. If I sell all the shares then I may not realize a stock is missing right off the bat and also it gives me an easy way to set the next buy order to repeat the process. I'm using Webull only for this so I can capture the full premarket / after hours trading. I actually started this Monday buying in with some stocks I'm familiar with and have had 5 sell executions at 20% plus. I've traded KWE twice already this week. The float is only 607K . It was in the $3+ range yesterday and I had my 2nd preset buy order set at 2.50. Around 4 am someone sold 8000 shares and it immediately dropped to 2.25 thus triggering my 2.50 buy. When I saw that I set my sell order for 3.25 (30%) and am waiting for it to hit. I went with 30% because I know the stock and the microfloat makes it jump plus it actually has a $180 one year PT. Anyway, that's my plan to entertain myself until the market becomes normal again. Let me know if you have any suggestions to make it better. These stocks will move quickly up or down with any volume at all. Some of the stocks I'm playing in this game : JXJT, CLEU, TIRX, MCOM, HUDI, KWE, HKD, WLGS,PBLA, AKAN I haven't bought AKAN yet, I have a buy order set at 1.05 right now but it was in our stock challenge, (KcCrow I believe) I remember it having some WILD swings 50% days In fact between yesterdays close and todays open it went from around 1.11 to 2.37. That stock is kwazy! Last edited by Hog's Gone Fishin; 05-03-2023 at 04:35 PM.. |

What's your definition of a small float? I was looking at one today with around 900k, KRBP, seemed small. Does Webull have a filter to search for stocks based on float?

Nice! I would like to try this, but my balance is below $25000, so day trading is limited to 3 times per week.

Also these are really designed to be swing trades and not so much day trades although they may trade in a single day. Last edited by Hog's Gone Fishin; 05-04-2023 at 10:52 AM.. |

No way, with low float stocks you may be down 30% one minute and up 20% the next.
If you can get comfortable with a trading range just set it and forget it. Play with small amounts, thats the way to limit losses. Check out what AKAN does and you'll see what I'm talking about |

I had the sell order set for 4.20 but it rocketed so fast it filled at 4.40 instead (26%). That's what low float stocks can do. Thanks for the ticker! |

Glad you made some off that. It's my thanks to you for bringing up TSLY a couple weeks back. It intrigued me so much I got in a little after it bottomed out and came back up to around 12.90. I've done well off the dividends, except for this month, and the up and down action on it.

For example: I put 100 shares of MAIN in my daughters portfolio 1/2021 at 31.96/share That's $3196 It pays 7% yield at .22 per share per month The stock is at $39.50 per share now 116.69 shares through reinvestment Her 100 shares are now worth $4582 That's an increase of 43.36% while the increase in stock price from 31.96 to 39.50 represents 23.59% increase the dividend gains represent the remaining 20% gain. Yeah, it's free money! |
