****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

I agree with this.

If someone emerges from this group my bet would be either Toney or Rice.

Exactly my point about guys like Nacua and Collins.

Lesser talents doing more with limited QBs while our more talented guys aren’t doing anything with the GOAT QB

I’m kinda tired of the “doesn’t trust” shit.

Doesn’t seem to bother other guys with young players

We get guys open but not with the kind of consistency you need to run an efficient offense that demands long drives. Say what you want about juju but he was consistent and he was reliable. Last year we executed with remarkable efficiency.

But when we don’t execute some of the holes in the intermediate game become exposed. We go from 3 downs to get 10, to 2 downs and it’s started to feel almost insurmountable. And that’s where you see mahomes press a bit. And where teams can just throw up passes and ask the WR to go up and get it we don’t have that tool in our arsenal. How many times have we seen a throw where we wish the WR would just attack it. And I think it’s a damn shame. That’s why some of us are more urgency for a rice or a Ross to become that option sooner than later.
You should probably let the coaches know of your urgency. I can't believe they haven't given this more thought.

Our goat qb needs to not leave clean pockets, stand in there and throw the ball to the guys getting open

Hopefully they will.
It's not the finished product, it was never going to be the finished product right out of the gate (especially with no Kelce on 24 hrs notice), and it's still not after week two, although it looked much better from a WR perspective.

It's not a 'fix' so much as it is just 'reps' and coaching staff figuring out what people do best and maximizing it. It's a lot of new parts, and young players who are gaining important experience.

It's logical to expect young guys to get better as they get acclimated to the offense, and learn.

It's not 'hoping' they do; it's expected they will. It's a natural progression.

the offensive line will get more in synch, as they get more reps. The WR's will get more in sync with Pat with more reps. More reps, more reps, more reps. There is no substitute for more reps.

pining for Long John Juju (get the reference? one leg? I crack me up) as the dependable veteran we can't replace is nonsense. It was never going to be immediate, although in week two, it's starting to look like it's happening. Not that I expect a 24 yard per catch average from Moore, but 70 yards and a TD is a start. And the TD was a nifty little route and grab.

It's going to be okay. Exercise a little patience. By season's end, you're going to be pleased with this WR group.

If Mahomes wants a big body WR to chuck it up to, Ross was in there. Ain't no CB3 or CB4 going to outjump him.

Through the first 2 games last year, JuJu only had 5 targets for 56 yards.

Through the first 3 games, he only had 9 targets for 83 yards and no scores.

JuJu had 22 targets in his next 2 games.

Skyy has 7 targets for 70 yards and a TD through 2 games.

That's a coaching thing that the Rams are fine with a 5th round rookie seeing a ton of action while the Chiefs really aren't.

OnTheWarpath regrets the error, apparently just supposed to sit tight and wait for the offense to eventually figure it out.

I guess I’m the only one that gives a shit that there are only 17 games and they all matter.
Can’t count on another team shitting the bed or a guy having a heart attack on the field the gift us a bye/HFA.

I’ll just ignore that this is a place for discussion and wait until November to comment on this team.

As the team has been a top team discussion here has been pretty barren any dissent is met with well stuff like this thread...

If there's no discussion then why have a forum?

I certainly HOPE they pull it together, but I’m not gonna just ASSUME they will.

Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results, even with the GOAT at QB.

I want another Home AFCCG, so forgive me for being concerned about the strength of our team looking rough early on in a nasty conference.
2 new OTs
Almost completely different WRs

In an offense almost completely built on timing…don’t you think that timing not being dialed in during the first 2 games should be considered normal?

To act like it’s unreasonable for people to be confident that it will improve by leaps and bounds…is unreasonable.

Actually..isn't Rice the only real new guy?

Everyone else has been here from the year before.
