****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

What disrupted the flow of the offense today were the penalties. I thought Andy's playcalling was exceptional and Mahomes was great. Toney should not be used on jet sweeps but otherwise he was better than previous game. I need to see Rice and Ross more involved on this offense.

O.City was terrified of the AFC landscape all off-season. Again it was for nothing and we are still top dawgs

You can. He is not sharp right now, but will hopefully get it figured out. He showed some flashes on a few drives. Also got sabotaged by some terrible mistakes from the OL (penalties, bad snaps from Creed), was robbed of a possession on the James fumbled punt, robbed of another possession on the Watson fumble, etc. All these guys need to play better.

I certainly HOPE they pull it together, but I’m not gonna just ASSUME they will.

Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results, even with the GOAT at QB.

I want another Home AFCCG, so forgive me for being concerned about the strength of our team looking rough early on in a nasty conference.
This is so ****ing phony.

I don't even believe you are this stupid. I refuse to.

You just haven't been able to do a lot of whiny bitching the last several years, so you're back to feast on some negativity while you can. I'm sure your bitching is very tame compared to what we could've gotten with another loss and an 0-2 start, but the offense was jsut bad enough to have something to reasonably bitch about.

No one is panicking, just pointing out what could be fatal flaws if not fixed ASAP.

Meanwhile, others just assume these issues will be fixed.

Maybe they will.

Hopefully they will.

Are you deliberately obtuse?

We didn't know what to expect. He was our leading WR. He had injury concerns and got paid well in his next contract.

Now he's with the Patriots and isn't remotely even one of their top receivers.

Hence, the idea that we lost someone like JuJu - a key part of the offense last year - and now should regress is silly. Just as is the idea that if we had kept him that the offense would be humming like last season.

Scheme > JuJu's talent.

If the assume part is for my take, I am pretty balanced on this matter. Only can speak for me, but the reason I feel they'll get this corrected is they did last year, and in a hurry.

Couple spots for Watson, huh? Would've taken more than both of our 2's to trade up.

Never change, Planet.

Can’t possibly discuss this team’s concerns without being called a pussy.

No reason to have a message board, folks. We’re winning the SB every year for the existence of the NFL, nothing to discuss.

Same handful of folks arguing the poster and not the posts.

Good night. Go Chiefs.

What really gets me is if they believe in Rice give him snaps. Addison and Flowers are rookie WRs seeing high snap counts, shit no one's in the way.

We're talking past each other. You seem focused on JuJu post SB win, I was discussing his value when he arrived.

Regardless, while JuJu isn't some great star, he has not been replaced yet.

We don't have a WR Mahomes trusts to move the chains when a 1st down is needed yet.

The good news is that all three should get better with a little time.
And that’s where I’m gonna push back.

We get guys open but not with the kind of consistency you need to run an efficient offense that demands long drives. Say what you want about juju but he was consistent and he was reliable. Last year we executed with remarkable efficiency.

But when we don’t execute some of the holes in the intermediate game become exposed. We go from 3 downs to get 10, to 2 downs and it’s started to feel almost insurmountable. And that’s where you see mahomes press a bit. And where teams can just throw up passes and ask the WR to go up and get it we don’t have that tool in our arsenal. How many times have we seen a throw where we wish the WR would just attack it. And I think it’s a damn shame. That’s why some of us are more urgency for a rice or a Ross to become that option sooner than later.
