The MLBPA needs to agree to a cap, MLB needs to agree to a floor, the owners need to divvy up the pot and every single one of them can get rich together.

But whatever - they didn't make me commissioner so this is a Manfred problem.
Ewing Kauffman had this idea in 1980. It's amazing how some people can't see it.

The amount of games has been the point where people I've talked about their level of interest in the game where they lead off with why they don't really care about baseball.

Compromise: maybe the major league should institute a 1st half / 2nd half / overall postseason qualifier a la the Texas League has (or used to have?).

Like if you're either leading your division or in the top three of your league before the halfway mark of the season, you're locked in to a playoff berth of some kind. If you've played the best in your division from that halfway point, you're guaranteed a playoff berth of some kind. The best overall record in each division gets a top seed and the best remaining six teams get the wild card play in games wherein the three best overall records host the play-ins with the field filled out by teams that either qualified in the first or second halves.

This.

If Gordon was "benched", someone would have reported it by now on Twitter or the KC Star, etc.

At what point do you keep the game going and roll with a 3 man crew? Keller is just sitting there cooling down

They did, but having one of the guys change into the home plate armor takes a bit.

Well we get to go 7 innings against their terrible bullpen tonight. Let's see if they take advantage.

We have 3 walks in the first 3 innings? Wow!

Can I just say how much I don’t care for Maikel Franco. That is all...
