The most ****ed up...and sinister thing about 2001? It was rated "G"....Kubrick was THE quintessential "bad ass". Stealth as ****....no matter what he made, there was biting discord at the root.

I'm in the target audience for artsy slow films. I thought the slow parts of BR 2049 were some of the better parts. 2001 has a lot of special effects that were special back in 1968. Now, not so much. Outside of a lot of slow scenes of not so special, special effects, there isn't a lot to this film. I guess you could argue a couple of memorable scenes with Hal, but really. I liked the book as a kid. No idea what I would think of it now. |
