Damn from age 10-13 I cried every fall when we couldn't get over the hump...1980 was great, until the Phillies and Tug McGraw and Pete Rose... Pete was a douche that series, but the older I got, I could appreciate his passion.

I really don't remember Rose from that series, but I hated Tug McGraw with a white hot passion. What kind of name is Tug anyway. Fuggin' douche bag.

Wow so we are just as good if not better when they don't start. To me that's actually a good sign because if we do get run support when those guys pitch we should just simply win.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro on facing the heavily-favored Yankees:
"Well, thankfully we're not playing against their tradition, right? We're playing against the team that we're facing off against this week. That's going to be plenty of a challenge. We understand how talented they are, but nobody gets to this point in the offseason or the postseason without being talented and being a good team. We take it as a challenge."

"We understand that most people are going to think that they are the favorites, but that doesn't matter when you get out on the field."

A better question would have been what their record is when those three start and exit with a lead.

Anthony Rizzo not playing in the ALDS. He didn't have a great year but he also has a .393 BA and 1.051 OPS against Wacha in his career so it's a bigger deal then it might seem.
