a local market chain here, Fred Meyer's.
has decided to only allow a minimum purchase of TP per customer. which is funny in a way.. last summer there was a water contamination issue, allegedly. the same old.. well, if youre pregnant or old or unhealthy, it might affect you... they were still charging for the bottled water. |

This should really be good for the economy. I mean people are spending like crazy.

Is it actually good for toilet paper makers, or for the economy? Surely this short term surge will be offset by people not spending much as they run down their supply after the panic is over.
It's only good for the manufacturers if toilet paper usage increases, and no one can work out why it will? |

I talked to my Sister-n-law, who lives in Wisconson, said that the only beer left at the grocery store was Corona.

Among all this consumer nonsense, I am really happy that coffee isn’t one of the things being hoarded. |

Agreed. I was running low a few days ago and coffee was the one item I was actually concerned would be part of this mess.

We just got back from wally world to pick up some milk, bread and a few other things. The shelves look like they do when we have a hurricane bearing down on us. Hardly any non perrishables, no toilet paper , nothing anti bacterial in the store except for 2 small bottles of hand sanitizer and 4 packs of hand wipes. I picked them all up for my mom who is going through chemo right now. Other than that, everyone was calm and respectful more so than I've ever seen there.
The lady at the checkout said it hasn't been too bad and that they're closing at 11pm to allow them to restock |
