I think you can make a pretty good argument, that paying Hill and having him line up for the Chiefs on the field helps preserve points 2 & 3.

I mean, if the worst that happens is you get fined a little and docked a draft pick, isn't that worth the trade off of a couple titles . . . . . |

Yep, as long as it's what the market demands. Yep.

Robert Kraft has his whole patriots place thing in new england and I wouldn't be surprised if Brady's TB12 facility lease is on the house. Considering the Chiefs got docked a pick for tampering, it looks like they're not protected like the Steelers, Giants, and Jets are. So if you do that, I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs lose a 1st or 2nd round pick for that. |

Speed guys maybe don't age that well, but you sure as hell give him a contract now - just maybe not a second one in 5 years.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe give him a 2 year extension during the 5 year contract. And then let him walk if he won't take a lesser contract.

The only way he may even entertain that is if they fix all issues on both sides of the ball and develop a winning culture here. Otherwise, why would he take a paycut when he is basically even now single-handedly carrying this team.

The Hunt family can tell him that he will own a majority interest in every profitable car dealership in 12 states if he cuts us a deal.
That's how Elway did it. That's how Brady did it. And it's worked out pretty well so far. FAX |

If Mahomes wants a max contract, you pay him. No choice there.
If Tyreek wants a max contract, I'm not sure you do. He has been durable so far. But one knee injury and it can become another Eric Berry situation. If you don't have an elite QB, paying Tyreek could absolutely be the correct move. To win a SB, you have to take chances somewhere. But I'm not sure that signing Tyreek to a market value contract gives KC the best odds. I think having a better OL and having 2 or 3 top WRs might maximize our Super Bowl chances more than putting so much of our cap space into a single WR. I would like to be in a situation where we could lose our top WR for the year, and still have a shot at the SB. With Mahomes and good WRs, I think you can still do that. I know a great QB can make the OL look better, but I would still like a better OL to reduce the hits he takes. |

He's our second most valuable player and has skills that are impossible to replace. Yes, you sign Hill first then figure out the rest imo.

Watkins was a luxury with Hill, Hunt and Mahomes still on rookie deals. His game in the AFCCG shows how valuable he is - when not injured.
