Trying to analyze early-season defensive failures seems futile when the defense turned in a winning effort in the AFCCG.

If Mathieu wouldn't be afraid to tackle, I'd want him back. He shys away too much, and did several times yesterday.

I get it,i'm frustrated about the Chiefs d also. Its even more frustrating thinking about the Bungles d though, they got who,Hutchinson ? Eli Apple ? WTF,and they make the SB,oh cause of their brilliant DC second half adjustments? Or moreso the Chiefs o couldnt make any simple adjustments and convert first downs when needed.

Jones has disappeared for 90% of his playoff career. But at least the 10% directly helped win the Super Bowl. Tip of the cap to him for that! They paid him the big money right after that and he disappeared in the playoffs 2 straight years.

I really don't get the Spags hate once we got Ingram our defense became the strength of the team until our offense got rolling again. San Sorenson was a liability and Frank Clark sucks but those aren't the players he picked for the defense Vrooch brings in guys for the coaches to coach and play.

Spags is still a damn good DC that helped us win a Super Bowl also.

Who could we get that is going make this defense better every year?

Spags plays a defense that is designed to slow down an offense, not stop it. It's designed dependent upon Andy's high-octane offense scoring a LOT of points. So when you're not scoring points, Spags defense won't be able to save you.

If you want a defense that "stops" offenses you are watching the wrong league. Not a thing.

Oh, is that right? That's what it's designed to do, huh? What with all the press-man coverage and blitzing?

What the actual ****?

Do you actually KNOW anything about anything, or do you just like to hear yourself type?

Spags' defense looks great when he can get pressure with 4. As do most defenses. When the front four can't pressure, it looks mediocre. Same as most defenses.

It's not designed to be a 'bend but don't break' defense.

If he wants to maximize his contract, which I can't blame him for (he has his ring), then we have to part ways. It's a business, and big boy decisions have to be made by both parties.
We will always have Miami.

We need some new blood on that defense. They quit playing at a 100% level with HFA on the line in Cincy. Got called out on sport center with film. Embracing. We need leaders on defense next year.
