That sucks something awful. Harris was going to be a damn good 4 year player for us and now we don't really even have any potential at PG. We have Geist and Phillips, two exceptionally flawed players with no ceiling to speak of.

That's tough as hell and strikes a serious blow to our tournament hopes.
Sucks for this season but seems like he may have left anyway just wanting to play with mpj

@MattJHarris85: Just seeing the Blake Harris news, and part of me isn't shocked. Like C.J. Harris, his relationship isn't exclusively with this staff. It's with the Porters. On the floor, you can understand his rationale, too. His role has see-sawed.

But MPJ was always a one-and-done, and Harris wasn't. So what was he going to do next year when MPJ was gone anyway?

Yeesh. Things between he and Martin must be really bad, or he feels entitled to be given the keys to the offense right out of the gate.

If he was actually great he would have easily beaten out Geist and Phillips. He's not a one and done type player. He's not a Trae Young or a Lonzo Ball

Ya, this smells like that more then mpj not playing. Makes me think the kid feels entitled more to play than earn it.

That's fine if he want to go somewhere else if he thinks it wasn't a good situation for him.

But to quit on the team in the middle of the season? What a loser.

This absolutely makes me believe he thought he was going to waltz in and be "the man" next to MPJ but when he found it he'd actually have to fight for his spot and it wasn't so certain....he quit.

@GabeDeArmond: Am told there are no restrictions on Blake Harris transfer from #Mizzou. He can go anywhere he wants. I’d bet on something in or close to North Carolina.

To me that is what is wrong with college sports these days. You get a kid who was a four star recruit and played well in high school, but doesn’t get 40 min a game wants out. I know it’s been like this for a while, but like what was mentioned above, if all Harris wantedt do was play with MPJ then what was he going to do the next three year? At the moment I think you get more from Geist and Phillips because they want to be there and play.

@Ben_Fred: I don't knock kids for transferring when coaches can change jobs at will. That said, it's hard to imagine Blake Harris finding an easier path to being The Man than he had at #Mizzou. He had to beat out Geist and Phillips. And bailed halfway through his freshman season.

I don't think Harris was a pure PT issue.

Cuonzo Martin requires his guys to be hard-nosed and give max effort.

Those are not qualities i would use to describe Harris.

"Pretty" guards are going to have a tough time sticking in this program, IMO. Just something that comes with this coach.

Major blow to the team's upside... but I don't think it affects Porter's potential return at all.

That's a total "WTF" move. It's not like Michael Porter was coming back next year anyway, so as others have said, I don't think it's connected to Michael's health or Jontay's upside.

Teenagers are flaky. We need to recruit St. Louis even harder now.
