Removing 2 of the 3 from the lineup really explains why the offense got it together down the stretch lol.

(Keep in Mind, anyone at this price range will have concerns, but we aren't going to be able to go out and spend heavy on someone who has no question marks, all of these players will have some issues)

Gabe Davis, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Curtis Samuel, Tyler Boyd, Kendrick Bourne, Josh Reynolds, Noah Brown, K.J. Osborn (Some of these obviously being closer to probably 7M AAV than 12M)

I just don't think we're gonna land a Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr, Marquise Brown, etc. guys (fingers crossed the market corrects back, but can't just assume such).

Drafting very well may be the solution, just considering our FA options.
We may get some ring seekers for a discount...

Hey Chiefs fans, you won a Super Bowl with one competent wide receiver!

Ha ha yeah that was fun.

I don't think it happens this year - but by next off-season, you'll see a fairly significant correction to WR salaries (apart from the very top end of the market).

Aiyuk getting shut down in the SB doesn't help things either. Brown not being a difference maker in last year's SB. The WR splurges just aren't paying dividends.
Which, um...only benefits us.

KC has invested quite a bit into the WR spot. They just haven’t gotten any ROI till Rice earned more time and grew into a star right in front of our eyes.

Skyy, Toney and MVS were all significant investments that gave us a little more than nothing.

Imagine if those gambles had hit and Toney had developed into his potential while MVS improved on who he was in GB. If Skyy could just be McCluster. lol

Instead, Toney had 4 drops in the opener and never mentally recovered.

Skyy will get another chance, but I think he will need to show big time improvement to make the final 53 man roster next year. Dude looks like a bust. This is his offseason to put in the work to know where to be if he wants to continue to be a Chief. You can tell Pat doesn’t want Skyy or Toney to be here.

I can feel a “house cleaning” coming on at the WR position, similar to what happened with the OL 3 years ago. The secondary a couple years ago…the linebackers the last couple years. Veach just attacks a position group and I can see him doing so at WR over the next couple years, aggressively.

That would be unlike every move the team has made for the last few years. I seriously doubt it.

Eh, I feel like we’ve done too much of recruiting athletes and gadget guys. Want guys who really know how to play the position. We can find other ways to get athletes

You'd think players with that mindset are guys that have already reached one bag contract already and are looking to finish their careers strong. Unfortunately, Reid and Veach don't seem to be in that market with receivers. We'll see, but it doesn't seem likely.
