*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Glad we drafted Mahomes last year or I’d really be questioning my Chiefs fandom tonight.

You are a moron if you think the defense will be bad. We've been a good scoring defense nearly every year under Sutton.

Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes will play each other in the NFL next season. Here’s why that’s interesting.

It wouldn’t be the first time, either.

By Morgan Moriarty @Morgan_Moriarty
Apr 27, 2018,

With Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton on the Cleveland Browns roster, No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield certainly has a shot to be the Browns’ starting quarterback come Week 1 next season.

And if not in Week 1, then maybe by Week 9.

During Mayfield’s first season in Cleveland, he’ll have an interesting game to play against Patrick Mahomes.
Spoiler!
Interesting story that I didn't realize. Thanks for posting.

I doubt Mayfield would have stuck around if he had been 2nd fiddle behind Mahomes. Mahomes probably would have been redshirted if Mayfield had stuck around, yet we will never know.

Mayfield and his helicopter dad took his petulant persona to OU

Davis Webb was also in that mix. Can't remember if Mayfield beat him out and then Mahomes took over or what, but he was the starter in at least 2013 I think. I'm guessing RR56 remembers all those details

I don't think it's fair to compare them. Watson was well on his way to destroying the rookie records. And he isn't arrofant like RG3 to try to tell coaches how to play him and become a team cancer which is one of the reasons rg3 fell out in Washington.

Why do people care if Watson fails? I obviously want Mahomes to do better but dude seems like a very humble and genuinely good human being. He gave his first check to those women that lost everything in the hurricane. I wish nothing but the best. His failure/success doesn't dictate Pat's. Bitter much?

Mayfield beat out Webb in camp to start. Then he got hurt and felt he was too important to have to win the starting job back. The next year Webb got hurt and never got the starting job back from Mahomes. Mayfield was a crybaby, with bad attitudem that was entitiled. He threw a pick 6 and was in feet of the db running past him and didnt even try to tackle him.
