I am absolutely obsessed with this cover. Idk if it's better than the original (the OG is one of my all-time faves), but it's at least on par which is saying something.

The first Heavy Metal song I ever really heard was released in 1968 by Blue Cheer. I remember seeing them on TV and thought, WOW! It was a cover of an Eddie Cochran hit from about 8 years earlier, which was rocking at the time.





Two years later in 1970, the Detroit band Frijid Pink released the a cover of the Animals first hit, House of the Rising Sun. Which was an outstanding song already but again this time it was covered in heavy metal style.

I had completely forgotten about Blue Cheer.

I will take Eric Burden Animals original all day over a very good Frijid Pink cover. Yhe vocals and keyboards just seal the deal for me. Chaz Chandler on bass looks like a young Donald Trump lol
