IMAX image is three times bigger than 70mm. 70mm is 5-perf; IMAX is 70mm but sideways and 15-perf. Bigger image and better resolution.

I have no idea what perf means by the way. Also, which IMAX would I be getting at the Leawood KS Studio 20. All these different versions are maddening. |

Saw it today at IMAX at the AMC in Olathe and I would say it is one of the top war movies of all time. Just another brilliant film by Nolan and I highly recommend everyone go watch it.

Saw it earlier today in IMAX. The loudest movie I have heard in my life I think?
Overall it was good and well made, but not my favorite Nolan. It basically left me cold. The lack of a traditional narrative kept me from getting into any of the characters Admired the filmmaking at work, but wanted more story. |

I don't know if Dunkirk will win Best Picture this year, but if it doesn't get the Oscar for Best Sound they should eliminate the category.
The sound of those Stukas was UNREAL. |

And yes, as I mentioned earlier, it was the loudest I've ever heard in my life, which was the point. How those guys could focus, while their ears were under assault, is just a part of their heroism. |

Saw it tonight, it's visceral and relentless. Visually beautiful, maybe too much music.
Hard not to consider afterward what a savage race we are. Spoke to a 92 y/o veteran in front of the theater beforehand, he saw it earlier and said he couldn't hear it very well(!) |

This and Hacksaw Ridge were 2 of the best war flicks in recent memory. |

A lot of the dialogue (what little there was) was muffled. The spitfire pilots especially. I'm pretty sure that was intentional by Nolan. He has a history of muffled dialogue in his films. Bane, Intersteller.
