The good news is Boston, Seattle and Detroit all lost today. They didn't really lose any ground on a playoff spot. Division is going to be tough to win though unless we sweep these next two games.

That's the biggest thing working in the Royals favor right now. Hard to believe but tomorrow is already game 140, just trying to limp to the finish because the season is running out of time. If we can even win a couple of these games coming up this week it's gonna set up a scenario where Boston is going to have to finish on a serious hot streak. Which if they do that they're going to be beating up on the Orioles and Twins and Yankees along the way.

No way I'm saying its over. Royals are still 4.5 games ahead for the last wild card spot. Only 23 games left and they have a magic number of 20. Royals could go 10-13 and Boston could go 14-10 over there last 24 games. Red Sox have a pretty tough schedule ahead of them too.

Royals got this.

Yeah Detroit has quietly been heating up.

Their problem is the Royals already own the tiebreaker on them. So do the Twins. They do have the tiebreaker on the Red Sox though. If we stay in the last spot Boston just needs to tie with us, Detroit and Seattle have to pass the Royals to get in so they're really one more game further back.
