We'll see.

With the bye this early, they really are gonna need that 1 seed, IMO.

Or you'll hope they go into week 18 without anything to play for (which is a distinct possibility if they HAVEN'T clinched the 1 seed by then).

They're gonna be awfully tired and banged up heading into the playoffs having played 12 straight weeks...

Pat mentioned awhile back that they hated the early bye. Now they play 12 straight weeks with a couple short weeks thrown in.

They're well positioned to get the bye. Go 9-3 the rest of the way and you've got it locked in. Take care of business and you get the best of all worlds.

So what happens when Pacheco is fully healthy? Are we going to see any 2 back sets with Hunt and Pacheco in the backfield?

How would a team even think of defending that?

Pretty hard to imagine that they won’t go at least 9–3 and they’ll probably do even better. I expect they will get the bye and we will probably even have a meaningless game for the last one. So I think having the bye at week six is perfect and they will be well rested for the playoffs also.

Maybe in short yardage/goal line situations. Aside from that, i seriously doubt we'll see it very often.

I dunno. Hunt and Perine are probably better pass catchers than the bottom of our WR room.

Pretty easy answer to me, really.

Hunt really has no burst at all to speak of. 13-15 yards may be the best he has in those legs.

But he's still powerful and has excellent vision.

So you use Pacheco between the 20s and you use Hunt in the Red Zone and short yardage situations. Perine as the 3rd down back but you sprinkle Hunt in for some tendency breakers in between the 20s as a pass catching option on 1st and 2nd down.

I don't think it's really going to be a problem.
