So do we move DeJong to third when they trade for Machado or what?

I've watched that replay three times already. Going to be a pleasant day at the office.

Wong has finally started to hit and his defense has been pretty big in several games.
3rd Base and RF seem to be our holes right now. Hopefully that HR jump starts Fowler. |

Wong has been good defensively all year.
They need to play Gyorko more somewhere. |

I'm just not sure whats gonna happen with Carp. The numbers they're going with say he's hit into a lot of bad luck thus far, which is probably true ish.
I wouldn't mind him playing 3rd everyday with Manny at short, but I just can't see them trading much of anything for a half year rental of Machado at this point. The Orioles really ****ed up that ordeal. |

As a Cubs fan it would pain me. I think we makes plenty of sense for them too. Would allow them to move Bryant to the OF, send Schwarber back to the O's. |

Yeah he’s awesome. I’m guessing he ends up I. New York so it doesn’t matter but it’s fun to day dream about it

It's a long season, but I don't think you can have a more satisfying series in May. That Tribune writer that said before the series that the rivalry has lost its luster because the Cardinals are down, can suck the big one.

This team is a lot deeper than it has been in years past. There isn’t a significant drop off in production for any or our bench players, sans Pena, who won’t be a factor once rosters expand in September. I’d expect we take Kelly over him into the playoffs.

So, how do you get Gyorko into the lineup?
You can't take out JMart(as much as I'd want to) because he can hit. Wong is fine defensively and if he performs like he did last year, he needs to play everyday. DeJong is infinitely better at SS than Gyorko. That leaves Marp. I know Marp is an unlucky hitter right now and he should end up seeing an improvement in production as the season progresses, but Gyorko is so much of an improvement at 3rd and he is hitting. |
