*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Most analysts have the Chiefs taking a step back under the first season with Mahomes. It will be interesting to see what everything thinks if he goes for 4k with 6 or 7 wins. With a 32nd ranked defense, every pick will be an extra 3 to 7 points against us.

Mahomes is going to cost a fortune in 4 years.

Jimmy Garoppolo inks $137.5M deal, now NFL's highest-paid player

Child, please; the key word here is "surpass", and yes.

And if it is the case, it wouldn't be that bad for his first full season but some of you sound like he will for sure be a top 5 QB next season.
Deshaun Watson was on pace for 3900 yards, 43 TD's, 19 INT's.

Mahomes put up 284 with Wilson and Harris. Granted, no TD's and 1 pick, but Wilson looked like a HOFer with Mahomes throwing to him. Get the rest of the varsity out there with Mahomes, and look out. I'm talking O-line too. I have a feeling our O-line is going to be looking a whole lot better to everyone this season.

When he’s a badass in 4 years, good free agents will take less to come play with us.

Mahomes' Cap Hits:

2018: $3.73 million
2019: $4.47 million
2020: $5.26 million
2021 (5th year option): $23 million (as it stands right now)

Side Note:

Alex Smith is now being paid like a top 5 QB. Obviously that will go down once Ryan, Brees and Cousins get new deals.

I think we're honestly going to look a lot like the Eagles from this season.
