Star Trek: The Next Generation Reboot With Patrick Stewart Reportedly in Development Rumors of the Picard-centric reboot come amid Alex Kurtzman extending his CBS contract for a planned expansion of the Star Trek TV universe. According to a THR article, there are unconfirmed rumors that CBS TV Studios is developing a Star Trek reboot starring Patrick Stewart in which he would reprise his The Next Generation role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. According to THR's sources, Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman are attached to the potential reboot. Not only is this an unconfirmed project, but THR's sources also say that the deal is far from complete and might not happen. Still, this would be huge news for Star Trek fandom—however you might feel about a Picard-centric reboot. The rumors of the Picard reboot come amidst Kurtzman renewing his overall deal with CBS Television Studios, extending his contract by five years. This will keep him in partnership with the studio through 2023, for a reported $5 million per year. Kurtzman was recently made sole showrunner of Star Trek: Discovery following the dismissal of previous co-showrunners Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg who left amidst reports of bullying behavior in the writers room. Goldsman, who served as an executive producer on Season 1 of Discovery, also left the show, reportedly due to a clash with the writing staff in terms of management style and personality, so it's interesting that he is still attached to the potential Picard-centric reboot. In addition to his work on Star Trek: Discovery, Kurtzman's extended deal with CBS Television Studios will include an expansion of the Star Trek franchise on the small screen, including the development of new series, miniseries, and other content, including animation. While this generally seems like good news for the Star Trek universe, it may also be disappointing, depending on what kind of Star Trek fan you are. While the move represents a reinvestment in the Star Trek TV universe, Kurtzman is not known for critical success. Previously, he has co-written the scripts for Transformers, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. More recently, he directed and co-wrote The Mummy. Not exactly the kind of nuanced science fiction writing Star Trek has, at its best, historically represented. More news on the expanded Star Trek TV universe as we hear it. they rebuilt the TNG bridge from scratch to the exact specifications of the show, not the movie, right down to gene's name on the plaque and no CGI...it's at the end |

Question: Why at the end is "Spoiler Ship" Flying back to Sol system? Even a Borg Cube would have a lot of Difficulty with the number of ships that are there for Federation Day. Even though "Spoiler Ship" is not connected to the ship network it will get pounced on and blown to hell in a second just like the one ship that the older crew took the bridge back.
Is there a belief that Mega Cube is going to be there with all the other ships and the Queen will get all High and Mighty and let Picard come on board so she can get the last ounce of revenge on him? Tin Foil Hat Theory time: Since the next episode will be the last one of the series then it has to end with a bang. Picard goes on board the cube to try to rescue Jack and save him from the queen. The Queen does some shenanigans and oopsie kills Picard. This awakens Jack from the control and in a desire to not be a borg and try to stop the queen and him feeling bad about all the death he has caused, he will turn the fleet on the borg cube and we have our budget busting space fight. Of course the fleet wins, the Borg cube is destroyed and with that, there is no more control since Jack was the transmitter. Somber moment since we lost both Jean Luc and Jack and Beverly is crushed. Then there is a large Funeral procession for Admiral Picard and put all the fallen onto the "Spoiler Ship" and play some bagpipe Amazing Grace. The "Spoiler Ship" slowly heads into the Sun as a final farewell to Picard and "Spoiler Ship". In the ending you get a one off view of what everyone is doing now with thoughtful expressions of what "family" they are missing. Like 7 of 9 will be on the Titan and say "Engage" and there will be Deanna and Riker living in the big city. Data and Geordie will be at Daystrom and in charge of de-construction of that mess. Beverly will be helping get all the Picard DNA out of the Transporters. Maybe Worf takes whats her name back to where her family is and puts in a good word with the husband and daughter?? Not sure on that one. |

I've probably watched the ending 20 times already. It's the Trek equivalent of the end of Rogue One. |

Starfleet is full of morons, apparently.
Also if the 2003-2009 Battlestar is Voyager if Ronald D Moore had full control, then what does that make Picard S3? |

It's funny, but it does seem smaller now. I think that's mainly because we're used to seeing it in standard 4x3.
