They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

They can tag Sneed and bring back one of Gay/Tranquill while spending a lot on a capable vet WR then drafting a 1st rd receiver.

Losing Chris Jones won't collapse the defense

Yeah they won't get to those later years which is why doing the restructure they did it makes no sense.

They could have done it in a way that benefits the Chiefs and Mahomes.

The only reason I can think of that they didn't do it the traditional way that would have gave us cap space this year is Clark didn't want to put the money up.

You have to either draft better, or develop players better. That's happening with even Rice. He looks way too talented for 87% of his catches to be within 10 yards and 32% be behind the LOS.
Rice is getting snaps downfield. They've been posted in this thread. You ignoring it doesn't make it less true

Me neither.

I loved the 18-21 years.

But we will be back to arguing the offense did enough when they lost 38-35 in a game the defense got a stop and recovered a fumble

IIRC, they did get cap space from him this year.

Tag and trade Sneed for a 1st. Resign Nick Bolton at all costs, because our rush D is not good without him. Keep Gay if he is willing to take a decent contract, but Nick Bolton has to be on this team next year or I think it goes to absolute shit.

They have the worst interior DL in football and are losing their best player there in this scenario.

The defense is gonna get worse next year. That's fine if the offense is better, but it's gonna get worse.

Can't discuss the QB not throwing it downfield to him, it's not allowed.

No one giving a first for a guy that also needs a contract that isn't a QB/WR or pass rusher.

Yeah they did one restructure during FA and one late in the off season.

Can I just say....****KKK that Frank Clark 2nd deal. Can't believe we have 9.5mil on the books for him this year. Imagine having being able to use that.

We're back into the "they've got cap space out the wazoo" thing.

They also only have 35 players under contract for next year. So you put Sneed on tag and start cutting guys that's just adding more to sign.

But everyone needs to understand, as we go along here, that's gonna have to happen somewhere.

It'll be interesting to see when they do it next year with the defense, who people will blame when we lost games in which the defense forced a punt or two. I don't know that Cp is ready for that.
I can’t speak for everyone but I can certainly say that I’ve never done that and have always appreciated what spags has done come playoff time. There is plenty in the middle between the elite defense we have now and only forcing 1-2 punts. Shifting a little bit of focus isn’t going to send us to the bottom 10.

The difference in the 9th best defense and the 22nd isn't a gaping hole.

It's a couple players.
