They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Drops are annoying but not nearly as frustrating as WRs who flat out don’t know how to play the position. Rashee dropping passes doesn’t make me want to stop throwing to him. A wr who runs the wrong route or can’t adjust to the ball would. And you can see it in mahomes’ face it drives him nuts too

Here's a fun stat "yards before catch."

Juju - 6.0
Rice - 3.3

Yeah, Rice DEFINITELY isn't doing what JuJu was doing for this team. And that is part of it.

Rice is just now starting to run deeper routes to any kind of benefit. Hit or miss...

You tell me? Just look at his picks this year, most are on 1st or 2nd down, not 3rd and long which is like an arm punt. Most are just weird lazy throws or bad reads(not talking about Toney's drop pick 6). He's thrown it on 3rd and medium deep multiple times when he had the first down readily available. This isn't like him, period. He's got a few tight window throws, but not many are even attempted compared to other NFL games. That's a pretty easy eye test. I get it, he may not trust the receivers, but he needs to do his job and not hesitate to deliver the ball on time to guys that are NFL open. He is thinking too much, he just needs to play and it will be glorius when he does...

He may just be the classic "5 o'clock hitter" and that's been enough to keep him in the lineup with nobody behind him really pushing him out of the way.

If anyone has a better option, I'm all ears. Because it can't be "well he's a good blocker" because all it takes for a WR to be a 'good' blocker is to kinda get in the way. And all that means is you're a willing blocker. But I don't think there's a dime's worth of difference between a 'good' blocker that's trying hard and a 'bad' blocker that's trying hard. Not at WR.

And to be completely honest, I've seen enough instances of Moore NOT trying hard to suggest that this is another 'Clark sets the edge' scenario. The close cousin of Nichol's Law of Catcher Defense. "Well he sure as shit isn't catching passes so he MUST be blocking well or why else would he be out there?"
The only explanation I have after watching the all-22 is he is a good blocker and his snaps is almost entirely plays where he knows he will be blocking, literally, that's his roll this week on all but 4-5 snaps. Runs or quickhitters. That why I hope Ritchie J will start taking more of his snaps now, as the Chiefs have appeared to give up on him in the passing game, but we will still see him on runs, nows and screens.

Yes, and Sky is basically removed from the passing packages. All but 4 or 5 of his snaps were blocking assignments.

There was holding called on that play. Wouldn't have made a difference. But yeah, fair point.

He doesn't trust his WRs because 5 of them are sporting catch% of less than 60%.

Skyy: 56.8%
MVS: 51.5%
J. Watson: 51.3%
R. James: 40.0%

J. Ross: 50.0%

Also, something like 60% of Pat's INTs occurred when a WR was targeted. And at least a couple of those were balls that Pat put right on the WR, darts in fact, that they allowed to go through their hands and into a defender's waiting arms.

Add in the consistently inconsistent route-running, inability to make the right adjustments, etc., and I wouldn't trust them either.

Off-topic: When did Pat throw a ball to Donovan Smith? Must've missed that game.

The hold wasn't called until Mahomes scrambled. If he throws it there is no indication of holding. And to be fair, there shouldn't have been a holding called anyway as the DT was being driven and Creed was inside his framework.

Correct. Mahomes caused the holding. A quick throw and there's no holding.

If you're the GOAT you keep doing your job, trust them or not, especially after a few games. Guys are open and he's not throwing the ball.

Pat was about to be sacked and chucked one to Donovan Smith who ran a few yards with it. They must have declined the penalty if it is showing as a stat.
