But reality is things could change last minute. We should know more after league office opens tomorrow Especially if deal for Williams or someone else is waiting on it |

He’s one of the most talented OLBs that’s came out of the draft. But we would have also have LJ Sneed for an even better chance at the PaTrick. |

Only way I’d be okay with a 3rd is if Veach plans to use it for to trade up. If Jordan Morgan is a possibility and they think he can play LT well then use that 3 to get a high priced asset cheap for 5 years.
Aside from that do a pick swap. I’d rather just swap 2nd rd picks with Indy than get 82. Last edited by RunKC; 03-17-2024 at 01:10 PM.. |

There has to be something significant coming in 2025 if we are only getting a third this year. Or a player is involved on the colts side. The report we are all going on (discussing compensation) says a third this year and a pick next year. My hypothesis is that pick is a conditional pick that can has a floor/ceiling of a 4/1 based on availability and effectiveness. There’s ZERO chance Veach is trading Sneed to a conference competitor for ONLY (or even close to only) a mid third. If that’s all that’s on the table, he’s staying a Chief and we are about to go thermo nuclear with a monsterous offensive draft that’s gonna piss everyone off. |

I just don't see any appreciable difference between the talent likely to be there at 24 and 32. The draft has flattened out considerably at that point. It's not worth losing a do-everything CB for a season in which we're chasing history for. Even a single season of Sneed should be sold dearly - he's a damn good player and we're trying to win football games. Damn good players help you do that. |

A third basically gets us from 32 to like 23. I’m sorry but that’s not enough value to lose a straight up UNICORN ERASER on defense, even if it’s only for one year. |

What if the $19 million picks up a Donovan Smith, Mike Williams, some depth at RB and a 3rd round draft pick? Are we comfortable with Morris at LT?

That mid-third really has the most value in a move up in the 2nd round. Signing a vet LT would probably lessen my disdain for the value but right now it'd be pretty high. I'd like to see this team lock down a franchise LT in exchange for losing Sneed. Anything less feels kind of like a long-term failure. |

Imagine this for a second.
KC extends Sneed. KC spends this whole draft on offensive weapons. Adds 2 RBs to pair with Pacheco. Adds 2 high ceiling WRs. Adds a good tight end. Gets a steal on a OL that gives us cap flexibility, going forward. For the PaTrick we would have 2 unicorn erasers at CB A HOF DT A couple highly productive DEs (that have ability to slide inside on passing downs) Great LBers that have plus coverage skills Experienced playmaking safeties The best DC in the game The best DL coach in the game The best secondary coach in the game AND THEN YOU GIVE PATRICK MAHONES A WHOLE DRAFT OF WEAPONS TO ADD TO A SUPERBOWL TEAM? A couple receivers he throws with in Texas and gives the feedback to Veach. Tell me a more exciting way to go into a HISTORIC and likely UNDEFEATED PaTrick year? It’s impossible to be more pumped that the thought of that. |
