And this is how we look now. Do we have to lose 30/36 before they make some changes?

That's the first of three embarrassing defensive efforts in this game alone.

I don't know how many straight years I need to say it, but they have got to fire Mozeliak. In reality, they probably need an ownership change.

A rundown of Mozeliak's most recent trades:

Voit for Gallegos and Shreve

Since being traded, Luke Voit has provided 2.8 WAR and almost 30 HR in less than 400 PA appearances for the league minimum

Over that same period of time, Gallegos has been worth 0.3 WAR and Shreve produced an xFIP of 5.19 and -0.4 WAR over the 2018 season (part with NYY) before getting DFA'd and being shit in the minor leagues

Tommy Pham for Justin Williams, Genesis Cabrera, and some idiot named Roel Ramirez

Pham has been worth 4.6 WAR since Tampa acquired him. Justin Williams punched a TV in the offseason, and has hit .196 in 55 PA in AA this year. Cabrera has been a AAA punching bag before getting promoted to put some Febreeze over the shitpile that the trade has been, and Ramirez has a 5+ ERA in AA as a 24-year-old.

Paul Goldschmidt + 5 years, 130 million for Luke Weaver and Carson Kelly

Weaver has been worth 1.7 WAR in Arizona; Kelly 0.5 WAR in a timeshare behind the plate with above average offense.

Goldschmidt has been worth 1.0 WAR with the worst wRC of his career

In other acquisitions of recent vintage:

*Brett Cecil has been exiled to the 60-day DL to keep him away from the team and has produced 0.5 WAR for approximately $20 million
*Andrew Miller has produced -0.4 WAR after being given 8 figures a year as a reliever in his mid-30s with year-after-year decline
*Luke Gregerson produced 0.0 WAR for $10 million and was cut

After the one month post-Matheny bump, this team is under .500. Schildt showed his ass in September and has shown it further this month.

This team sucks and this organization needs a thorough evisceration.

Yikes. That’s rough when it’s all laid out like that.

Mozeliak’s biggest weakness, IMO, is that he always seems to be selling low and buying high.

Giving away Voit and Pham so quickly after being so doggedly tied to guys like Matt Adams or Kolten Wong or Michael Wacha is just inexplicable.

Even the 11 trade of Rasmus that keyed the WS run was a sell low situation.

The best thing Mozeliak has ever done is come in second in the bidding for Pujols. Fitting.

ALWAYS.

At his absolutely best he bought low and sold low w/ the Jay/Gyorko swap. And in FA he's no better; signing Fowler the year AFTER he could've gotten him for 1/3 the price even though he'd had a nice season in Chicago. Cecil had one of the worst years of his career - no matter, long-term deal for a !@#$ing reliever. Gregerson was CLEARLY on his way out of baseball and the Astros didn't even put him on their WS roster - so what? Multi-year pact.

He's bad, man. He's really really bad at this.
