They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

And that is concerning. Especially with this OL. Week 1is often called a "liar." Lets hope that's the case with the running game.

Also considering we have Mahomes and teams probably are much more concerned with the pass game I simply do not understand how the run game can be so anemic at times, particularly in short yardage. Is it the scheme? The playcalls? It doesn't add up.

Hypothetically let's say we throw a Jacobs or Taylor level talent in at RB, someone who is elite. How different does that look vs. having guys at RB who are mostly average at best? I'm not saying we should do that, for the record, just curious how it would impact the offense.

Honestly, don't know. I think our IOL is great at pass-blocking and 'good' at run-blocking, but not great at it.

i mean, with a truly elite RB, yeah it would look different. Put CMC (insert great RB here) back there, and the short yardage problems largely just disappear.

But it's not really Pacheco's fault either. The blocking was kind of ass in the run game that night, but that'll improve as the season goes along and the OL gels.

That touchback rule is the NFL rule equivalent of our WR group

Thank god we didnt try to run it even more...but the 1st and 10 runs with CEH were quite infuriating.

No they wouldnt. Short yardage will remain an issue until we show we are willing to QB sneak with Mahomes. Defenses do not even need to prepare for it.

Um, yeah they probably would. That's a big part of what makes elite RBs elite. Their ability to make chicken salad out of chickenshit blocking.

Though I 100% agree that KC should be running QB sneaks. It's absolutely idiotic that we aren't.

Couldn't care less about the QB sneak. What is stupid as hell is that the NFLs best offense last year struggles at short yardage. They completely over think it.

It's been an issue since 2020, for whatever reason. At this point, I'm not sure what we can do about it.

They didn't play him.

I'll never understand why they signed him instead of Meyer. The article says it was 'Run after the catch ability' but that just seems like rationalizing to me.

It was just real dumb.

It's a helluva testament to Reid and Mahomes that they got 900 yards out of that guy.

Bill has signed a lot of them, especially on offense
