This game is going to be really tough, and I don't give a flip if people find that doom and gloom. The 49ers have a crappy QB, but they're outstanding on defense and good everywhere else.

The Chiefs have shown pretty consistently that they do not have answers for Top 10 WRs in this league, and they're facing two of them, arguably, in Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, who is fantastic. They're also going to struggle to apply pressure against the 49ers OL rushing four. This is also a Shanahan offense which means it can run you into the ground if you're not fortified against it. I've started losing faith in the Chiefs run defense, but it's not gone yet; if they can gum up the run game, they should win this game 70% of the time. But that's really hard against Shanahan.

The secret sauce as always will be Spags. Garoppolo is a game manager, and if you can wreck him with pressure, you can take the head off the snake. If they can rattle Jimmy, they should win this game 70% of the time.

The 49ers defense, however, is the best in the league. They should be able to apply pressure with just four rushing and have my favorite LB in the league in Warner who is Derrick Johnson reborn. Trick plays will not work on this defense.

I do think you can pick on this secondary plenty, however, but they're going to need to find a way to keep Pat clean. If they can do that, I think they can win this game 70% of the time.

This is a sneaky-tough opponent that this forum is absolutely sleeping on. The 49ers have been to the NFCCG twice in a row, and may yet go there this year.

But I think the Chiefs have more answers for them than they have answers for us.

Nick Bosa has the most pressures in the NFL this year. He should be doubled every single play

Andy and Mahomes will ass**** this team SF-style!!

But for as good as this team has been defensively, third down has been their Achilles heel. Per RBDSM, the 49ers are 19th in defensive success rate on third and fourth down and 23rd in EPA per play allowed.

I was watching the game at a casino in Nevada, one of their 10 a.m. games there. It was weird to see Mariota in such control compared to the history we have at our disposal... The falcons seemed to do a ton of underneath stuff. Mariota was 15/15 starting the game, and it seemed like they held control of the ball/game the entire time. Jimmy and the 49ers didn't seem to capitalize their chances on offense.

I think the key here is take it slow, keep their D on the field, limit Jimmy's chances, not because he's good, but because he won't make the most of the 4-5 we give him, where Mahomes will... We don't need this one to be a shoot out.

They're decimated on D injury wise. They didn't make 2 straight NFC champ games either.
