We owe Wanya Morris an apology

Didn’t realize just how bad it could be without him and boy was it bad.

Say what you want but the kid is a functional LT that is getting better. It’s hard finding average LT’s but I’d say he’s pretty damn close to average and that’s okay.

He’s the same caliber as Donovan Smith to me but he’s young and not falling apart.

Say what you want guys….getting a functional starting LT that is steady and not a bust at the end of rd 3 is an A+ draft pick.

Believe the hit rate in rd 3 is roughly 15% so getting this type of value is a big value to us.

I really had high hopes for Kingsley in week 1. Thought we'd found our LT of the future. Maybe he'll improve and still be that. Who knows

So, you think it was better to bring the guy in mid season due to Morris having injury issues and Suamataia being unplayable, and just hoping he's plug and play instead of having him in the organization from the start of the season and knowing how he's currently doing? That's a very bold strategy.

Yes, I do.

You know who else thinks that was a good play?

Andy Reid and Brett Veach.

Well, they thought rookie Suamataia was starter material. Nobody is perfect.

Isn't Thuney pretty solid at LT? Maybe they should play him there and put someone else at LG.

They liked his tools and athleticism and believed he wouldn't be this bad and would make steady improvement throughout the season.

It's really not a bad plan. If Kingsley's floor weren't this low, it's the perfect way to hopefully have a comfortable LT for the playoffs and far into the future.

Turns out he really was just that bad.

Could they have done a better job of seeing this coming? Maybe? It certainly didn't help when Wanya got dinged up during training camp so there wasn't anybody to challenge him for large stretches of preseason. But I really don't think Reid has racked up the 3rd (or 4th? can't remember) most wins by a coach in NFL history by recklessly going, "**** it! That guy's the starter!"

If Morris went down in the playoffs our season is pretty much done with the way Kingsley is playing. (He looks that ****ing bad) We can't let our 3 peat depend on Morris knee.

Shifting around the line to cover the left tackle position sure worked well in the Super Bowl against Tampa.

He was putting up some of the same abysmal reps that are getting Mahomes obliterated now in training camp. There's quite a few of them scattered throughout the various daily TC threads. Especially the ones where he sets his feet and gets blasted by on the inside move.

We need to scheme this up better before the playoffs for sure and Andy better commit to the idea, especially if he wants Patrick Levon Mahomes II to get another ring.
One of the Schwartz's has talked about this. When you don't chip a lot, it's hard to get everything right. You either have to commit to doing it a lot, or it will be a mess if you do it.

He won the starting job in the preseason, though. If he was worse than Wanya or the other backups, Andy wouldn't have started him, so that tells me that he's got good qualities. He's just in the learning curve and/or having trouble breaking bad habits.

I think there’s a real chance Donovan Smith might be coming back soon

We play Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt 10 days apart. That could be painful for anyone playing LT. They'll need to give Wanya and Kingsley (God forbid) lots of help for those games.

There's also Crosby, Bosa, and Mack coming up though we already faced these teams and protected well enough (Bosa was hurt).
