I think we're going to see more of an emphasis on stopping the run.....at least until Mahomes throws 4 more TD passes in the first half and the 49ers have to abandon the run altogether.

He reminds me a ton of Alex Smith, he takes a ton of the short options and his arm isn't really all that great. He takes the scramble a lot when it's there.

This is the type of team that needs a lot of plays to score unless you give up some huge run or YAC play.

Have the 49ers ever won in Arrowhead?

We usually just crush them.

The Derrick Thomas safety game vs. SF was probably the second most fun live game (after the Vanover punt return vs. SD game)

And actually that one was fun the whole game, not just the last few minutes.

I was at the playoff win vs. the Raiders too - which was just painful and inept on both sides.

Was that the 44-9 (or something along those lines) game in 1997?

Ah yes, that's right. Steve Young was their QB and we roughed him up bad.

49ers won the SB after their 1994 season, not 1997. That was the year Steve Young set an SB record with 6 TD passes. That record may get broken in the near future by our QB.

Yeah, it was 44-9 i think.

McMillan had a pick 6.

They won the SB the year Montana beat them in 94 tho.

SF was considered pretty much unstoppable coming in to that game.

Damn Holthus has been around a LONG time.

That safety turned the game around. Everyone in the crowd was anticipating it too.

The 49'ers are near the bottom of the league defensively. (Yeah, only 2 games in).

I would expect them to try to establish the run to keep the ball out of St. Patrick's hands. I think the Chiefs will do just fine against Breida, and proceed to go off on them.

After getting a multiple score lead, both teams throw the ball all over the field.

Chiefs 45
49'ers 31
